Explore the Quiet Side of the Alps

Discover a different rhythm of winter at the Nordic area of Peisey-Vallandry. Set on the Rosuel plateau beneath the peaks of the Vanoise National Park, the trails lead from Pont Baudin through peaceful forests, snowy clearings and open landscapes with beautiful mountain views.

With 13 trails covering around 43 kilometres, there are routes for beginners and experienced cross-country skiers alike. Try classic skiing in prepared parallel tracks or enjoy the more energetic skating technique. Loops range from short introductory circuits to longer outings, allowing you to explore at your own pace.

New to the sport? Local ESF instructors offer lessons in both techniques. Equipment can be rented at the Nordic Centre in Pont Baudin, where you’ll also find trail passes, advice on conditions and a heated picnic room for a welcome break.

There’s plenty for non-skiers to enjoy too, including snowshoeing, winter walking and sledging. For something different, discover biathlon, combining cross-country skiing with target shooting. Keep an eye on the surrounding slopes: the valley is home to ibex, chamois and bearded vultures.

Prices & Visiting

For winter 2026–2027, adult trail passes cost €9 for half a day, €12 for a full day or €38 for six days. Children aged 5–15 pay €5 for half a day or €7.50 for a full day. Equipment rental and lessons are additional. Check the official Nordic pass page for current prices and trail openings.
